Shelton State Partners With Honda to Recruit Technicians
Shelton State Community College of Tuscaloosa, Ala., will serve as a regional training center for Honda dealership service technicians under a new partnership forged with the manufacturer. Graduates of the new program, which requires no prior qualifying courses, will earn an associate’s degree.

“We see a direct relation between student retention and knowing what’s there at the end instead of just coming in and taking a course and wondering where I’m going to go when I get out,” Hobson said, citing a growing job market and competitive starting salaries as reasons Shelton State decided to offer the program.
