Dealer Offers Paid CPR Training Following Employee Emergency

Ryan Gremore, president of O’Brien Auto Team and its six Bloomington/Normal-area dealerships, has offered to send staff members to CPR training during work hours at the auto group’s expense.
In an Automotive News exclusive, Gail Kachadourian Howe reports the program was instituted following a 2017 incident in which two employees leapt to the aid of a young porter who suffered a cardiac arrest due to an undiagnosed heart condition.
“More or less, they saved his life,” Gremore said of the employees. “It really struck me, as a former lifeguard when I was younger who had been through first aid certification and CPR certification, how valuable that was to me, to have that certification as an employer, watching employees react with such courage and swift response.”
