Experts tell Auto Remarketing’s Alysha Webb the same dealer M&A market that was driven to new heights in 2024 may come back to earth in 2025. In her latest dealership buy-sell market forecast, Webb blames waning dealership profitability for cooler temperatures ahead.

“That is one factor that will impact the 2025 buy-sell market, which professionals expect to moderate though remain healthy,” she writes.

Haig Partners’ Alan Haig and Dave Cantin of Dave Cantin Group, among other buy-sell advisors, agree that in a cooling market, dealers may have to reset expectations — particularly those with less sought-after brands and locations.
