Embattled Nissan Asks Profit-Starved US Retailers for ‘Patience and Understanding’

Automotive News reports Nissan Americas Chairperson Jeremie Papin sent a memo to U.S. dealers Nov. 30 among rampant speculation that the Japanese automaker could soon be acquired.

“We are working diligently to implement turnaround actions and the stability and future value they will bring to valued business partners like you is a high priority for us. We are working hard to deliver more details on these action plans. In the meantime, we ask for your patience and understanding,” the memo states, in part, according to AN.

The news follows earlier reporting that activist investors are circling the company as it faces a series of financial challenges that preceded recent production cuts.
