A federal judge refused to dismiss a lawsuit alleging a Chicago dealership wrongly claimed bonus payments after misreporting sales to known resellers.

Automobili Lamborghini America accused Joseph Perillo Sr. and Tahir Kanwar, the president and an employee of Lamborghini Gold Coast, respectively, of “knowingly misrepresenting they were selling new vehicles to retail customers when sales were actually made to known resellers,” according to a special report by Automotive News’s Eric Freedman.

But as Freedman discovered, the facts of the case may not be as straightforward as they first appear, and at least one attorney looks forward to the dealer’s day in court.
