Stan Bernard has been promoted to head of industry practices for the U.S. middle market for Zurich North America, the company announced. Bernard’s predecessor, 31-year Zurich veteran Lynn Zeitler, will retire in December.

Bernard gained executive experience at CNA National and Chubb before joining Zurich in 2021.

“Stan excelled in his previous role as our Head of Financial Institutions and Professional Services,” Wells said in a release announcing the promotion. “He has been an integral part of the Industry Practices leadership team since the beginning of the unit and developed many of our most impactful and innovative client strategies. I am excited to have him join the executive leadership team and broaden his impact across the portfolio.”
