Infiniti Lets US Retailers Co-Locate With Nissan

Automotive News reports Infiniti is allowing dealers to merge their standalone stores with Nissan dealerships on a case-by-case basis. The news follows the a fifth straight January-September period in which the Japanese manufacturer’s upmarket brand failed to exceed 5% of U.S. luxury new-vehicle sales.

Nissan North America Division Vice President Steve Milette acknowledged the discussions in an email exchange with reporter Urvaksh Karkaria.

“Our evaluation, first and foremost, prioritizes the health of the retailer and Infiniti business,” Milette wrote. “Additionally, we consider expected sales, cost and availability of automotive real estate, and size of the existing facilities, among other factors.”
