Reverse Lights Force Recall of 443,000 Toyota Tundras

Toyota USA will alert more than 400,000 owners of the 2022-’25 Tundra pickup that a manufacturing defect could cause their reverse lights to fail. Notices are expected to mail in July.
At issue is the risk of moisture that could cause cabling and connectors to corrode, causing the lights to fail and rendering backup cameras useless in low-light conditions, according to CarScoops reporter Chris Chilton.
“The fault affects around 443,000 Tundras and Tundra Hybrids built for the 2022-2025 model years, which will need to return to a Toyota dealership to have their light units — two per truck — replaced free of charge,” Chilton writes.
