US Probes Tesla’s FSD Software After Fatal Crash

A National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) investigation into 2.4 million Tesla vehicles equipped with optional Full Self-Driving software follows the latest of four reported collisions.
Reuters reports the investigation will include several Tesla vehicles with FSD software, including the 2016–’24 Models S and X, 2017–’24 Model 3, 2020–’24 Model Y and the Cybertruck, which debuted in the 2023-MY.
“The new scrutiny of the advanced driver assistance system comes as Tesla CEO Elon Musk looks to shift Tesla’s focus to self-driving technology and robotaxis as it faces growing competition and weak demand in its auto business,” the report notes.
