Ganther to Tackle AI-Generated Compliance Issues at AI Dealer Agent Conference

Organizers of the AI Dealer Agent Conference announced that attorney and Mosaic Compliance Services CEO Jim Ganther will helm a session dedicated to new, AI-assisted threats such as identity theft, voice cloning and document forgery at the inaugural event, scheduled for Sept. 9–11 at the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center in Midtown Atlanta.

Ganther will present “Technology, Compliance and the Law” at 9:55 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10. The 45-minute workshop is the last of four learning sessions agents must attend to qualify for the ACE AI Agent certification exam offered onsite. After a break, Ganther and Gil Van Over III, ACE’s executive director, will team up for a review of all four sessions prior to the exam.

“The FTC has defined failure to comply with the Safeguards Rule as a deceptive trade practice — music to the ears of the plaintiff’s bar,” Ganther says. “The emergence of AI has made this an increasingly risky area of compliance. I want attendees to leave with a clear understanding of AI as a sword, and how to use it as a shield.”

AIDAC show chair and longtime publisher David Gesualdo says the session provides a fitting end to an agenda dedicated to making AI experts of the agents in attendance.

“The merger of compliance with automotive sales and finance is in the rearview mirror, but the road ahead may bring any number of new developments. Jim has dedicated his career to keeping dealers, agents and dealership personnel on the right side of the law, and we will all benefit from attending his session.”
