The Hybrid Car Buying Experience Customers Want in 2025

Once a novelty, a hybrid online/instore sales model is now not only the norm but the expected experience for today’s consumers. So argues David Boice in a new article for Digital Dealer, citing survey results from numerous sources, including a Bloomreach survey that found nine in 10 respondents prefer an omnichannel retail experience.

“This is no different in the auto industry — car buyers expect a smooth transition between online and in-person interactions, where the convenience of browsing inventory and securing financing online complements the traditional option of in-store consultations,” Boice writes.

Boice also notes that building a seamless experience comes with challenges. He urges dealers to prioritize visibility into every stage of the buying and servicing process.

“With a truly integrated tech stack, dealers can gain a detailed view of the entire shopping journey, gaining insight into each customer’s path to purchase.”
