Nissan Simplifies Dealer Compensation Plan

Nissan will tie all dealer compensation to new vehicle sales targets starting June 3, dispensing with its current 20-metric program and standardizing per-vehicle spiffs with a stair-step model, according to an Automotive News report.

Nissan executives and dealer Scott Smith, who owns the Atlanta-area Smith Automotive Group and serves as vice chairman of the factory’s dealer advisory board, tell AN’s Urvaksh Karkaria the program — dubbed “Nissan One” — will pay off for dealers who meet or exceed their sales goals.

“If I sell to my number, I am guaranteed holdback, flooring assistance and $1,200 a car,” Smith says. “I’ve got stores that will make another million dollars a year.”
