Report: 43.2% of Sales Leads Mishandled in 2024

A Foureyes analysis of more than 1 billion visits to websites representing more than 22,500 U.S. dealerships found 43.2% of all sales leads were mishandled in 2024, including nearly 48% of all website-originated calls.
The sales tech software provider’s seventh annual Automotive Dealer Benchmarks Report also charts leads by attribution, channel and days to close, among other metrics. “Mishandled” leads also include poor or nonexistent follow-up and unlogged forms and contact requests.
In a release announcing the findings, Foureyes B2B Marketing Strategist Matt Inda notes the report does not include visits logged by bots, job seekers and other non-sales customers.
“Want to know if your dealership is leaving money on the table? These benchmarks let you stack your performance against your industry peers,” Inda writes.
