Porsche Dealer Sues Movie Studios After Airborne Tent Damages 14 Units

The owners of Porsche of Vancouver (B.C.) are suing Brightlight Pictures, Lighthouse Pictures and Kellie’s Films Services after a tent rented by Kellie’s to the studios blew off a set adjacent to a dealership lot and allegedly damaged 13 Porsches and a BMW.

Witnesses described the scene as “cinematic,” writes the Vancouver Sun’s Susan Lazaruk, saying the large white tent was trailed by its concrete anchors as it flew through the air.

“The dealership alleges the defendants were negligent because ‘they failed to properly secure the tent in the prevailing environmental conditions,’ including failing to anchor it with the proper weight and failing to check the weather forecast,” Lazaruk writes.
