Sunroad Automotive Claims California’s First VinFast Franchise
VinFast has awarded its first California franchise to Sunroad Automotive Group, which plans to kick off operations at VinFast San Diego this month.
“We believe in VinFast’s strong potential to make a lasting impact in the North American market,” writes Paul Fillmore, the new dealership’s general manager, in a release. “At Sunroad, we’re committed to being a trusted and strategic partner — working together to create mutual value, drive growth and deliver high-quality vehicles along with exceptional experiences to our customers.”
The dealership will sell and service VinFast’s fully electric VF 8 and VF 9 SUVs, which start at $39,900 and $62,900, respectively, and come with a 10-year/125,000-mile warranty and 10 years of unlimited battery coverage.
Haiphong, Vietnam-based VinFast introduced its U.S. franchise model in 2023 with plans to have at least one dealership in all 50 states. VinFast’s network currently includes 31 authorized dealerships in 15 states.
