Mexico-Built Ford Models Get Price Hike

Citing import tariffs, Ford Motor Co. has informed its U.S. dealers that MSRPs will increase by up to $2,000 per vehicle, effective May 2. The first affected units are expected to be delivered in June.
Ford builds the Mustang Mach-E, Maverick and Bronco Sport at the Hermosillo Stamping and Assembly plant in the Mexican state of Sonora.
Reporting for Reuters and the Detroit Free Press, Nora Eckert says a Ford spokesperson claims the price increases are less a line item than part of an equation.
“The spokesperson said the price hikes reflect ‘usual’ midyear pricing actions, ‘combined with some tariffs we are facing. We have not passed on the full cost of tariffs to our customers,’” Eckert writes.
